Tallinn Airport also known as Lennard Meri Tallinn Airport
is the largest airport currently in Estonia. It is also a home base to
Estonian Air, the national airline. It is open to both local and
international flights. It is situated almost 4 km way from the centre
of Tallinn, more precisely, on the eastern shore of Lake Ülemiste. An
interesting characteristic about this airport is that it consists of a
single asphalt-concrete runway which is 3070 meters in length and 45
meters in width. It is so large that it can easily handle a wide bodied
aircraft, such as Boeing 747. Apart from this, the airport has a total
of 5 functioning taxiways and 14 terminal gates.
